2. Tensile Strength of UHMWPE Crane Pads
The tensile strength of UHMWPE is generally 20-40 MPa, which may vary depending on the specific formula and additive content.
Factors affecting tensile strength:
Molecular weight: The higher the molecular weight, the stronger the tensile resistance, but the processing difficulty increases.
Additives: Carbon black filling can improve UV resistance, but has little effect on tensile strength.
Temperature: UHMWPE maintains good toughness at low temperatures, while high temperatures may reduce strength.
3. Crane Pads Selection Notes
For heavy cranes, composite or high-density UHMWPE Crane Pads are recommended to ensure sufficient tensile strength and compressive resistance.
For small and medium-sized lifting equipment, HDPE or UHMWPE are economical and durable choices.
If higher strength is required, glass fiber reinforced composite or steel Crane Pads can be selected.
