Multifunctional application of PE uhmw sheet 4x8
PE uhmw sheet 4×8 is one type of polyethylene. It has extremely long chains of polyethylene with the same direction align, and its molecular mass is usually between 2 and 9 million. So the different molecular mass will have different price.
Because of longer molecular chain, high quality PE uhmw sheet decides that it can load more and become very tough material with the higher impact strength than any present thermoplastic. Compared with the steel, the weight of PE UHMW material will be one third of steel but the impacting strength will be 9 times in the same volume.
Application:
1.Entertainment applications
The slippery surface and good self-lubricating of UHMW sheet is used in producing artificial ice rink and truck liner. As to ice rink board, it is similar to real ice. However, it is not cold and you can skate in your basement,room or backyard in summer or winter. The power is not needed, so it will save your money.It can be also used as Road Access Ground Mat, Crane Outrigger Pad, some colorful sheet or others.
2.Medical applications
Since the 1980, UHMWPE has been used in clinical as a successful biomaterial for use in hip, knee spine and implants over 40 years.
3.Manufacturing applications
Uhmw sheet is also used in the manufacture of machine part like Hydraulic Seals and Bearings. It is durable with low coefficient of friction and high impact resistance,so much quieter than metals and won’t absorb fluids. It is best applicable to Medium mechanical duties in water, Oil Hydraulics and pneumatic use.
