1.Press and sinter
Press sintering is the original processing method of UHMWPE sheet. The production efficiency of this method is low, and the ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is prone to oxidation and degradation. In order to improve production efficiency, direct electric heating can be used;
2.Extrusion molding
Extrusion molding equipment mainly includes plunger extruder, single screw extruder and twin screw extruder. Twin-screw extrusion mostly uses co-rotating twin-screw extruders. Plunger extruders were mostly used in the 1960s, and the single-screw extrusion process was developed in the mid-1970s.
3.Injection molding
Japan’s Mitsui Petrochemical Company developed the injection molding process in 1974 and commercialized it in 1976, and then developed the reciprocating screw injection molding technology. In 1985, the American Hoechst company also realized the UHMW-PE screw injection molding process.
4.Blow molding
When UHMW-PE is processed, when the material is extruded from the die, the UHMW-PE will shrink to a certain extent due to its elastic recovery and almost no sag, so it is a hollow container, especially a large container, such as a fuel tank, The blow molding of the vat created favorable conditions.
