Strong chemical corrosion resistance  

ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has excellent chemical corrosion resistance characteristics. Except for concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid, it will not be corroded in all alkaline and acidic liquids used in concentrated hydrochloric acid at a temperature of 80 ℃. It is also stable in<20% nitric acid and<75% sulfuric acid. It is also stable for washing water and liquids

However, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is prone to swelling in aromatic or halogenated compounds, especially at high temperatures, so special attention should be paid.

Superior impact resistance performance

The superior impact resistance of UHMWPE is related to its molecular weight. As the molecular weight increases, the impact strength gradually increases and reaches its peak at around 2 million.

According to the literature, the impact strength values of UHMWPE and other plastics determined by the ASTM-D256 method can be compared can be concluded that the impact resistance of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene at room temperature can be comparable to that of polycarbonate, which is known for its impact resistance and is commonly used in engineering plastics. UHMWPE still has excellent impact resistance even at a low temperature of -40 ℃, and can maintain good impact resistance even at a liquid gas temperature of -269oC. This excellent low-temperature characteristic has expanded the application of UHMWPE to the field of low-temperature engineering.

Self-lubricating, reducing wear and tear

The self-lubricating characteristics of UHMWPE coal bunker lining plate can effectively reduce the friction between the materials in the coal bunker and the lining plate, reduce material jamming or blockage, improve material flowability, and thus reduce the wear and cleaning frequency inside the coal bunker. Good thermal performance

According to the ASTM (load 4.6kg/cm2) method, the hot deformation temperature is 85 ℃. Under lower loads, the operating temperature can reach 90 ℃. In special circumstances, it is allowed to be used at higher temperatures. Due to the excellent toughness of UHMWPE, it is good for low resistance performance. It still has a certain degree of ductility at -269 ℃ without any signs of brittle fracture.

Excellent electrical insulation performance

UHMWPE has excellent electrical insulation properties over a wide temperature range, with a volume resistance of 10-18CM, a breakdown voltage of 50KV/mm, and a dielectric constant of 2.3. Its electrical insulation performance changes minimally over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies. Within the heat-resistant temperature range, it is very suitable as a structural material for electrical engineering and a material for paper mills.
